In the 2015 movie, The Big Short, there is a line that goes, “Poetry is like truth, and everyone f*cking hates poetry”. It’s no secret that most people find poetry boring, or at least, hard to engage with. It is a poor user experience, to use a technology reference. It tends to be viewed as a self absorbed poet crying about birds and trees(?).

Created by Tola Makanjuola, Poetry Bores looks to engage with the poetry on a human level, by analysing various poems through a style that is fun, engaging, maybe even profound. Poetry Bores strips down the barriers of high art and inaccessibility, to make poetry less, well, boring. Enjoy.

What will you find on this website?
