Increasing an amount of money by a given percentage

Example 1: Increase £10, 250 by 37.5%

Step 1: Divide 37.5 by 100

  • 37.5/100 = 0.375

Step 2: Multiply 0.375 by £10,250

  • 0.375 * £10,250 = £3,843.75

Step 3: Add £3, 843.75 to £10, 250

  • £3,843.75 + £10,250 = 14,093.75

Therefore: £10,250 increased by 37.5% is £14,093.75
