The Cold Cut Series: In the good old days

In the good old days

You could do anything you wanted

In the good old days
There was brutality, Don’t complain.

In the good old days
You would have been shot right on the spot
For your descent towards my superior being
Take a look, see what I mean?

In the good old days
You could demean a man
Before falsely prosecuting him

In the good old days
You could lie and get away with it

In the good old days
You could sweep your sins
Right under the rug
And blame your short comings
On the structure of reality itself

It seems those days are over
Confined to the past

But human beings are so depraved
That I think we’ll meet again.
